Spring! Finally. It’s here. Of course, by ‘here’ I mean ‘above freezing and not snowing’ – but, to be honest, I’ll take that at the moment. To celebrate the tiniest glimpse of something other than winter, I’m delighted to say I have a new supper club date in the diary: Friday 4th May 2018.

This time I’m popping up in the historic market town of Chipping Norton and returning to the lovely ladies at The Tea Set Cafe. As usual for a G&G supper club, guests will be welcomed with a seasonal cocktail and nibbles. Then we’ll all sit down at the communal table to a homegrown feast celebrating the very first harvests of the growing year. I’ll talk a bit about the food too so you’ll leave well fed and a bit cleverer too.

Is mostly set but liable to change, mainly because it’s entirely determined by what harvests I have and to what extend this thaw continues so my seedlings germinate! But don’t worry – there will be plenty of deliciousness to fill you up and I can still accommodate dietary requirements.

After the welcome cocktails and nibbles there will be 4 courses which will celebrate the Spring landscape. The food will be piled high on sharing platters and full of vibrant colours and flavours. No frills, frippery or formality – just beautiful, seasonal deliciousness like always.

Buttered radishes

Rhubarb and rose cured trout with homemade bread and butter

Pea and mint soup

Wild garlic tortellini, broad beans and pea tips

Strawberry sorbet and frosted flowers

Tickets are £55 including welcome cocktail and food. The Tea Set ladies will be running a well-tended bar for additional drinks – including a few specials selected just for the event. Booking is essential – it’s not a biggie this one, so space is limited.

You can now book online (I KNOW – G&G has never been so tech-savvy). Just click on the button below and you’ll go through to WeFiFo (like Air BnB for supper clubs). There’s a short sign up – just so I have the important details like dietary requirements – and then you’re away. (If you’ve any issues or can’t stand the thought of another online form, just email me and I can book you in instead.)
